DJI Osmo Pocket 4 Brings Faster Video, 107GB Storage, and Improved Tracking
Table of Contents
DJI has announced the Osmo Pocket 4, its latest compact vlogging camera, following months of leaks and teasers. The new model builds on the Pocket 3 with a similar 1-inch sensor but brings a noticeable jump in video performance and usability features aimed at content creators.
Interestingly, while the camera has launched globally, it is not currently listed on DJI’s U.S. website, suggesting availability there may be delayed.
4K240p Video and Improved Dynamic Range
One of the biggest upgrades is video performance. The Osmo Pocket 4 can record 4K video at up to 240 frames per second—doubling the maximum frame rate of the previous generation. It also supports a wide range of standard frame rates, along with native vertical video recording at up to 3K resolution. D-Log is included, with DJI claiming up to 14 stops of dynamic range for more flexibility in color grading.
The camera offers a maximum bitrate of 180Mbps and an ISO range of 150 to 12,800, expandable to 25,600 in low-light mode.
On the photo side, the Pocket 4 sees a significant jump to 37-megapixel stills, up from 9.4MP on the Pocket 3. It supports both RAW (DNG) and JPEG capture, along with long exposures of up to four seconds, aided by its built-in gimbal stabilization.
The camera also includes 2x “lossless” zoom at 4K and up to 4x zoom in 1080p, giving users more framing flexibility without a noticeable drop in quality.
Updated Tracking and Controls
DJI has added ActiveTrack 7.0, bringing improved subject tracking for people, vehicles, and other moving subjects. Features like Dynamic Framing, Subject Lock, and gesture controls are also included.
A new 5D joystick and additional physical buttons—including a dedicated zoom control—make one-handed operation easier, especially for solo creators.
Built-In Storage and Faster Transfers
Another notable upgrade is the addition of 107GB of built-in storage, allowing users to shoot even without a microSD card. The camera still supports external cards up to 1TB.
File transfers are handled via USB-C 3.1, with speeds of up to 800MB/s when paired with the DJI Mimo app.
Audio, Display, and Gimbal Features

The Pocket 4 includes a three-microphone array with spatial audio support, along with compatibility with DJI’s Mic ecosystem. When connected, it can record separate audio tracks for more flexibility in editing.
It features a 2-inch rotatable OLED touchscreen with improved brightness and color, along with a 3-axis gimbal that supports multiple shooting modes, including FPV and SpinShot for more dynamic footage.
The camera uses a 1545mAh battery, offering up to 240 minutes of recording under certain conditions. Fast charging allows it to reach 80% in about 18 minutes.
DJI is also offering a range of accessories, including a battery handle, ND filters, wide-angle lens, and a magnetic fill light designed specifically for the Pocket 4.
