Insta360 has dropped a surprise teaser for a new retro-inspired Go action camera product. While most attention has been focused on the upcoming Luna vlogging cameras, this latest teaser hints at something very different—and honestly, kind of cool.

The short clip shows what looks like an Insta360 Go 3S-style action camera paired with a redesigned retro-themed Action Pod.

A Vintage Look for the Tiny Action Camera

The teaser carries the tagline “Let’s go retro” and leans heavily into vintage aesthetics. From the warm retro-inspired color palette to the compact rectangular body, the whole thing gives off strong old-school point-and-shoot vibes.

A lot of people online immediately compared the styling to cameras like the Kodak Charmera, a very popular retro-inspired digital camera.

Is It a New Camera or Just an Accessory?

That’s the big question right now.

Insta360 hasn’t confirmed whether this is an entirely new camera or simply a new accessory for the existing Go 3S. Based on the teaser, many believe it’s likely a redesigned Action Pod rather than a full-blown Go 4.

The camera module itself looks almost identical to the current Go 3S, which adds more weight to that theory.

A Different Kind of Action Pod

The redesigned Action Pod seems to ditch the large flip-style screen found on the regular Go 3S. Instead, it appears to feature a much smaller waist-level style display that adds to the retro camera aesthetic.

The overall design almost turns the tiny action camera into a miniature point-and-shoot. There are also scenes in the teaser showing users pressing physical controls on the pod, likely to take photos or start recording.

Wearable Camera Vibes

Fans online suspect that it is a redesigned Action Pod for the Go 3S rather than a new action camera.

One interesting detail is that the teaser shows the camera being worn as a pendant—even while attached to the retro pod.

The original Go 3S already supports pendant-style mounting through accessories, but seeing the retro pod used this way suggests Insta360 may be pushing this more as a lifestyle or fashion-oriented camera setup.

Fans Seem Pretty Excited

Reaction online has been surprisingly positive so far. A lot of comments online seem genuinely interested in the retro styling, especially since compact lifestyle cameras are becoming popular again.

Even if it turns out to just be a Go 3S accessory, it definitely feels more creative than the usual action camera refresh.

Launch Date

Insta360 is expected to officially unveil the product on May 14, 2026 at 8AM EDT.

It’s shaping up to be a packed week for camera announcements, with the Sony A7R VI and Canon EOS R6V both expected to debut just a day earlier.
