The China International Photography Machinery and Imaging Equipment and Technology Expo—better known as China P&E—is kicking off on May 15 in Beijing, and it’s already shaping up to be a busy event for camera gear fans.

Several major Chinese lens makers including Viltrox, Laowa, and Meike are teasing new products ahead of the show.

Viltrox Teases Multiple New Products

Viltrox may have the biggest lineup of announcements at the event.

The company shared a teaser image showing 10 unreleased products, including eight lenses, a compact flash unit, and what appears to be a new external monitor.

Based on the silhouettes, one of the lenses appears to be a compact pancake prime similar to the company’s popular 28mm F/4.5 “Chip” lens.

Another silhouette in the center strongly resembles a tilt-shift lens, complete with multiple adjustment knobs. There’s also what looks like a fast pancake lens on the far right, somewhat similar in style to Nikon’s 26mm F/2.8.

Aside from lenses, Viltrox may also unveil a new field monitor, possibly as a follow-up to the DC-550. The teaser also hints at what could be an updated version of the company’s Vintage Z1 retro flash.

Leica L-Mount and Micro Four Thirds Expansion

There’s also speculation that Viltrox may officially expand more of its Pro and LAB lens lineup to the Leica L-Mount.

The company joined the L-Mount Alliance last year, so many photographers are hoping to see some of its newer Nikon Z and Sony E autofocus lenses make the jump. Early reports suggest that the 28mm F/4.5 “Chip” lens will be coming to L-mount.

Additionally, Viltrox is also rumored to announce its first Micro Four Thirds lens during the event. Photo Rumors reports that the company will debut the 25mm F/1.7 lens, a first in a series of Micro Four Thirds lenses.

Laowa Is Also Teasing New Glass

Laowa is reportedly preparing to launch three new lenses during the show.

Current speculation points to a wide-angle lens, a macro lens, and potentially an autofocus zoom lens—which would be a pretty major move for the company.

If Laowa does release an autofocus zoom, it would become only the second Chinese lens manufacturer to do so. That milestone was recently claimed by Thypoch with its new AF 24-50mm F/2.8 Voyager zoom lens.

Meike May Bring Autofocus to Fujifilm GFX

Meike also appears ready to announce something interesting for medium format shooters.

The company teased an upcoming autofocus lens while highlighting several sensor formats, including the exact dimensions of Fujifilm’s GFX medium format sensor.

Chinese manufacturers have already released several manual focus lenses for Fujifilm GFX cameras over the last few years. But no third-party company has officially launched an autofocus lens for the system yet, so Meike could end up being the first.

Expect More Announcements Throughout the Weekend

China P&E 2026 is also expected to feature brands like 7Artisans, TTArtisan, SongRaw, Brightin Star, Yongnuo, Thypoch, and ZY Optics.

With so many manufacturers attending, there’s a good chance we’ll see even more surprise lens announcements over the weekend.
